element 2 - shutter speed and moving object

shutter speed is the speed that the shutter moves to let in more light or keep out more light

if you keep your shutter open for too long you image will be overexposed and if you make it it fast the image will be grainy

you can also you shutter speed to make water look still and flat or make and image look like it has movement.

shutter speed ranges from lengths of 1/20000 of a second to 1 minute or long if you put it to bulb mode

ISO

ISO is the level of sensitivity of your camera to available light. The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera. With increased sensitivity, your camera sensor can capture images in low-light environments without having to use a flash. But higher sensitivity comes at an expense – it adds grain or “noise” to the pictures.

element 1 - aperture and depth of field

what is aperture
Aperture is the ring inside a lens that opens and closes to let in or block more light reaching the sensor
what does f-stop mean
F-stop is the number that refers to the aperture to know quickly if your letting in or blocking light
what is depth of field
Depth of field is referring to the aperture and the higher the f-stop the background is focused and the smaller the f-stop and foreground is in focus

depth of field

what is depth of field
Depth of field is is where you have foreground middle ground and background and these have different objects in focus
DOF principles
the smaller the f-stop the less focused the background creating  a shallow depth of filed the larger the f-stop the more focused the whole image is creating a larger depth of field
what controls DOF
F-stop or aperture ring
what can you do with DOF
put feeling into photos and make a photo have focus on one point of the photos to make the viewer see that first

'Element 3: Position in Relation to Sun/Light Source'.

'Element 3: Position in Relation to Sun/Light Source'.

lighting is very hard to master but there a few things that you can do to make your photos better

if you want nice soft light you can use a diffuser or if you don't have one you can use a piece of paper to soften the light and make the photo warmer and smooth

the best type of light is sunlight light but sometimes to light is to harsh and so you use a reflector to get nice light onto a subject
